Nor Cal Skippers Club hosted its 2019 Halibut Derby in June 2019.

Where: San Leandro Marina
Entry fee: $25; Young Adults (under 16) fishing with registered entries fish for FREE
Prizes– Heaviest Legal Halibut: 20% of Entries
- 1st Place: 30% of Entries
- 2nd Place: 20% of Entries
- 3rd Place: 15% of Entries
- 4th Place: 10% of Entries
- 5th Place: 5% of Entries, consolation prize for ticket holders that did not catch a fish.

Rules:
- All entries shall abide by all regulations of the Department of Fish and Game
- A valid Derby ticket will be a two-piece ticket attached to a Derby Flyer- vendor to collect half of ticket upon purchase
- Young adults under 16 fishing with a registered entry need to register via youth flyer- Free
- All persons on the boat must have a valid Derby ticket, including registered youths
- Derby begins at sunrise on June 22, 2019
- The contestant catching the halibut is the only person eligible to enter it for a prize
- Only one fish entered per ticket. Heaviest fish also eligible for Place 1-4
- Person entering derby must be present and have their entry ticket stub at “weigh in” with their fish to win prizes
- All entries must be paid in full and received by 5:00 pm on June 21, 2019, “cash only”
- Places 1-5 will be determined by random drawing. In the event no fish are caught for any place, prizes will be awarded by ticket stub drawing, must be present to win any prize
- Decisions on winning fish and interpretations of rules will be made by the Northern California Skippers Club Derby Committee, decisions will be final with no appeal
- If it has been determined an entry has violated any rule; the entry will be disqualified and all entries on the boat may be disqualified
Weigh in Station: San Leandro Marina
Weigh in Time: Weigh in will be between 3:30-4:00 pm at the harbor. No fish will be accepted after 4:00 pm. If a fish is not at the scale by 4:00 pm, it will be disqualified with “no exceptions”
Liability: Individuals participating in the Northern California Skippers Club Halibut Derby do so at their own risk. NCSC Committee and Derby sponsors assume no responsibility or liability for personal injury, loss or damage to personal or other property and equipment deemed lost or damaged by contestants and their guests.
